Doing a major renovation on your home or business can be a big undertaking. While the investment is worthwhile, the work can be messy and the timelines can go on forever. At Breeding, we want to make your renovation process as smooth and simple as possible — so we complied these tips for your convenience!
Step 1: Plan
The first step will be to plan your renovation. Confer with a professional designer and/or your contractor, and make sure your plan is complete. There’s nothing worse than starting a renovation and realizing half the material is missing! Once you have an idea of the scale and materials for this project, call Breeding to get an estimate for your dumpster rental.
Step 2: Create a Timeline
Use a calendar to mark important dates, like those when you’re available and when workers are available. Deliveries and services should also be included. Our rental dumpster period is 2 weeks, and each day beyond that will cost just $7/day. These are all things to keep in mind while creating a timeline that will keep each component of the renovation organized.
Step 3: Consider Another Size
If your timeline is strict and Breeding does not have your preferred can size available, consider another size! Our 15-, 20-, and 30-yard containers are all the same price, so if time is of the essence, consider going larger or smaller. We strive to deliver dumpsters as soon as the next day — but that’s a lot more feasible when you can be flexible! Give us a call to see what we’ve got available during your timeline and book your rental:
Step 4: Make Room & Prep Area
Once you know what size your dumpster will be and when it’s coming, it’s time to prep the area. If you’re not sure if the can will fit, please measure to be sure before delivery to avoid hang-ups. Once you’ve picked a spot, mark it off with paint or cones. That way, our drivers know exactly where you’d like your dumpster placed. You can also verbally tell us where you want it when you call to book, but this may be less accurate than visual markers.
Step 5: Separate Trash & Recycling
As you’re completing your renovation and disposing of various materials, separate trash from recyclables if possible. If your can is full of recyclables-only, we can give you a discount, as the normal landfill charges will not apply. Ask your Breeding scheduler or driver for more information about flat rates for recycling and organic material!
Step 6: Call for Dumpster Pick-Up
This is one that often gets overlooked! Please include your anticipated dumpster removal date on your timeline so you don’t forget. Once you have filled your dumpster as many times as needed and you are all done with your renovation, it’s time to say goodbye to your dumpster. Just give us a call and let us know, and we’ll pick it up and get it out of your as soon as possible. If you forget beyond your rental period, the daily renewal rate will apply.
We sincerely hope that our must-know renovation tips help make your project go smoothly. Renovations can be expensive, time-consuming, and even frustrating — but a dumpster rental makes the cleanup easy as pie!
