Guide to Renting a Dumpster

Wondering how to get your hands on a rented dumpster for that upcoming project? The process is pretty simple and straight forward with us here at Breeding Roll Off Services. While we may not be the only choice for your dumpster needs, we know a thing or two about dumpsters and want to give you every advantage to making the right choice. To help you with that, we have put together a few steps and things you should know when making that decision.

Step 1: Know your service type

Are you a DIY homeowner looking to revamp your home? Are you a business owner looking to do some renovations or need a routine delivery of a dumpster for your business? Knowing your need is essential to know what size dumpster you need and how your local roll off company can serve you.

Your need will also categorize you in a temporary rental or permanent rental. If you are a business owner of offices, retail stores, restaurants/bars, or hotels/apartment buildings than you may want a “permanent” or as we say, an ongoing commercial dumpster for frequent debris collection.

If you are a homeowner or DIY advocate, you may be doing projects like remodeling, landscaping, downsizing for a move, or cleaning our certain areas of your move. If this sounds like your situation, you may want a temporary roll off dumpster to serve your needs which are generally rented for a few weeks.

Step 2: Choose your size
The right container for your needs depends on the amount of debris you’re looking to throw out and how much it will weigh. Here at Breeding Roll Off Services, we have 15, 20, 30 and 40-yard containers. Check out what size matches up with your situation best here.

Step 3: Ask Questions Upfront
Once you’ve shopped around and have your quotes in hand, it’s time to ask your roll off team a few questions before you order:
– What is the cost of extending my rental?
– How are pickups scheduled?
What are the materials I cannot put in the dumpster?
Do I need a permit for a temporary dumpster?

With these questions, you’ll know the cost of additional services ahead of time and avoid any unexpected fees. Here at Breeding Roll Off Services, we want the process to be as straight forward and simple as can be. Check out our FAQ’s for answers to these and more here.

Step 4: Prep for delivery
After you’ve made your final decision and placed your order, there are a few things you can do to ensure a smooth and speedy delivery. Once these two items are done, you are good to go and able to get to work right away once your dumpster has arrived!

1. Choose a spot
Decide where you want your dumpster placed and either communicate this to your roll off service and/or mark the area with cones. Keep in mind your dimensions of the dumpster you choose to rent if you decide to mark the area. Our professionals can help you choose the best area to place your dumpster, just give us the property details.

2. Make room & clear the path
The delivery truck needs a 60-foot area to clear and 23 feet of overhead clearance. Be sure there is a clear path, double check no gates or debris are blocking the drop spot so your driver can complete your site on schedule.
